Imagine With Me Review & Excerpt

Review : Holy shit….this book was HOT!

The With Me In Seattle Series is one of my top series and when Kristen Proby decided to stop it, I was so sad. But after a while she continued the series and now we are on book 15 and I couldn’t be happier. Imagine with me was amazing. I loved the characters, the story line and the chemistry. We got a glimpse of Shawn’s and Lexi first interaction at the end of You Belong With Me which was a great teaser of what was to come and we were not disappointed.

Shawn is a screen writer and Lexi is a book author. Luke Williams (Come Away With Me – book 1) has hired Shawn to write the screen play for Lexi’s book that he has bought the rights for. The only way Lexi was okay with this was if she was the co-write of the screen play. So when Luke agreed she packed for a month and flew to Seattle to turn her book into a movie. From the first moment Lexi met Shawn her co-screen writer there was an instant connection but the tension was high, because Shawn went and put his foot in his mouth in the first sentence he said to her.

Lexi thought he was the hottest man she ever met but disliked him from the start. If she could she would leave to go back home right away, but she knew she had to stay strong and make sure her vision and the story she wrote doesn’t change. They both needed to learn to work together. Sp when Shawn noticed from the start that Lexi was not comfortable where they were working and his commute daily is making him later, he took a chance and suggested move their “office” to Shawn’s house. Lexi was very skeptical at first but she knew that she would never be able to get anything done where they were, so agreed.

Lexi is shy, keeps to herself, she likes to stay home and doesn’t like to be around people. So when Shawn would push her out of her comfort zone, she was scared. But what surprised her the most was she ended up falling in love with his family, with his house, with the island and with everything they did together. Like I said the chemistry was on fire between them, so one night after the pub, they made a deal, co-workers with benefits. The deal was they would do whatever they wanted while they were working on the script, but no falling in love and no marriage. Both of them did not want anything else or nothing more.

This book had its twists and turns through the whole story. It kept you wanting more. Kristen Proby is amazing and one of the top romance authors. I received this ARC for my honest review and opinion. 5 stars for me and I can’t wait for the next story, I know it’s going to be a good one!

Excerpt : Shawn O’Callaghan loves his job as a screenwriter almost as much as he loves his family. But this latest project could quite possibly test his patience beyond anything he’s ever had to endure. Generally unflappable, the author he’s thrown into the trenches with pushes every button he has. Sometimes twice. And it doesn’t help that he can’t stop thinking about her in ways that are anything but professional. But how can he help it? The redhead is gorgeous beyond reason—and utterly infuriating.

Bestselling author Lexi Perry is finally about to leave her mark on the world; after all, seeing her dark and dangerous words brought to life is a dream come true. Until she meets the man who is supposed to make that happen. From the minute they laid eyes on each other, it was clear there would be tension, but she had no idea how much until they got down to business. He obviously doesn’t understand her vision. Though she’s having trouble lately too, given all she can picture is what he looks like under his clothes and imagining what it would sound like if he talked dirty to her in that sexy Irish lilt of his.
If they can find a way to meet in the middle, this movie could be one for the ages. As could their love.
